Equipment for sand and grease treatment
- High degree of separation
Our product range provides an effective solution for separating sand and grease from wastewater.
For wastewater treatment plants to function optimally, it is crucial to separate sand transported by water and other mineral materials from the organic matter.
Sand typically carries a large amount of organic matter, which is why we always recommend installing an aeration system in our compact pre-treatment equipment, UnivTech® Nw100, to prevent the sedimentation of volatiles and reduce the organic content in the separated sand. Additionally, aeration helps to break emulsions in grease and remove floatables. Residence or retention time is a key parameter in the design of an aerated desander, but even if the desander is well designed, the sand will still contain a high level of organic matter. Further processes, such as sand washers, are needed to separate the organic matter from the sand.
It is necessary to separate grease, oils, floatables, and suspended solids to generate treated water with an acceptable and consistent quality.
